BlueSky has the
same primary vision that was conceived 5 years ago by
Alventive. During
the rise and fall Alventive's company, there were many
things that changed along the way.
However, one thing that never changed along the way
was the business problem our solution solves.
The Business
Problem our Alventive Collaboration Solution solves is
summed up in one sentence:
"Geographically
distributed and outsourced product teams cannot efficiently
orchestrate, track and collaborate on processes that lead to
fast, early and optimal product decisions."
During
the time of the first few releases of the Alventive
solution, Alventive's marketing team concentrated on
marketing the product as a Design Collaboration solution.
The official name stamped on the product was "ACDS"
(Alventive Collaboration Design Solution).
The solution was indeed built with the capability to
allow product design teams to effectively collaborate with
all team members, including members from both the supply
chain and customer team.
As the Alventive product evolved into new releases,
the marketing team was instrumental in progressing the
product to address more business processes than just Design
Collaboration. With
the release of version 5.0, the Alventive solution was
marketed as a tool to help manage the introduction of a new
product. Alventive
coined the acronym "PIM" (Product Introduction
Management). This
was a very logical next step because the "Design
Collaboration" process is actually a subset of the more
encompassing process of "Product Introduction".
Now BlueSky is now taking the next step in broadening
the applicability potential of this product and simply
referring to it as the Alventive Collaboration Solution, or
"ACS" in this world of acronyms.
